HOWDY, friends! Today, I want to shine a light on a special friend of ours—Joseph “Smokey Joe” Jividen. We crossed paths about eight or nine years ago at the Pratka Ranch, and since then, we've enjoyed many great adventures together, from cooking up a storm to sharing laughs. Smokey Joe is not just a fantastic friend to me; he’s also become a cherished member of the Pratka family.
A GROWING COLLECTION
Over the years, Smokey Joe has curated an impressive collection of Tin Roof pieces for his home and office. One of our first collaborations was crafting a custom island top and vanities for his previous residence, which set the stage for our ongoing partnership.
One standout project is the Buffalo Coat Rack With A Hidden Whiskey Shelf, designed to display his massive buffalo hide coat while holding his favorite whiskey, Blanton’s, and a couple of glasses. It’s a unique, eye-catching addition that serves as a great conversation starter!
Another memorable piece is the marlin board we created after Smokey caught a stunning marline. Made from pecan wood, it complements the other furnishings in his home and makes the marline pop beautifully.
CUSTOM TOUCHES FOR A CULINARY EXPERIENCE
In Smokey’s kitchen, we designed floating shelves with recessed brackets for a seamless look, complemented by a rustic live edge mirror that fits perfectly in the space. He also requested a taller cedar high-top table for bar stools, providing an ideal gathering spot for friends.
One of the best parts of our friendship is Smokey's passion for cooking. He whips up gourmet meals, pairing them perfectly with whiskey from his cleverly designed hidden shelf. His culinary skills and hospitality spirit bring people together, making him the perfect match for testing our Tin Roof creations.
