Our latest project took place at a stunning lake house in Horseshoe Bay, designed for the Cook family to enjoy with their grandkids. It features a magnificent three-level staircase—a true masterpiece of custom craftsmanship alongside other captivating modern designs.
The Three-Level Staircase: A Stunning Masterpiece
The three-story stairway in the Cook residence is truly a showstopper that brings the wow factor to the modern home. Crafted with a steel mono-beam construction and adorned with 4-inch hickory wood floating treads, it is elegantly complemented by a sleek metal railing coated in a durable matte black powder finish. The staircase not only impresses with its structural elegance but also sets the stage for the other modern touches created by Tin Roof within the residence.
An Illuminated Modern Bookcase
The lighted bookcase, crafted from beautiful hickory wood, chosen for its lighter color to complement the stain selected by the Cooks, enhances the room's aesthetic appeal. This stunning feature combines functionality with modern design, while integrated lighting installed by the Tin Roof team adds a warm glow, making the bookcase a welcoming addition next to the grand fireplace.

Temporary stairs using pine lumber were constructed for safe movement during the initial stages of construction. Back at the shop, our team was busy welding together what would become the steel mono-beam staircase.
Steel Structure Installation:
The steel mono-beam was transported to the Cook residence and installed once the primary structure was ready, with temporary treads and railings added to protect them during the build.
Final Touches:
As the house approached its final stages of completion, our team kicked into high gear! We skillfully installed the polished wood treads, secured the sleek matte black metal railings, and meticulously affixed the Art Deco wood slats and panels to the wall. The final touch was crafting and installing the illuminated bookcase.
