Happy New Year, friends! Kurt here, and I’m excited to kick off 2025 by sharing a few of my favorite pieces from our showroom here in El Campo, Texas. January often feels like a time to reset and refresh, so what better way to start the year than by introducing items that bring character, charm, and a little piece of Texas into your home? These standout pieces combine Texas roots, incredible craftsmanship, and stories that make them more than just furniture—they’re conversation starters. Let’s dive into this month’s top picks!

A COFFEE TABLE FROM THE HEART OF TEXAS

Have you ever seen a coffee table that doubles as a piece of natural history? Well, this table does just that! The base of the coffee table came from a root system off the Champion Ranch property in Brady, Texas. My dad, Mark, and brother stumbled upon a fallen live oak tree during one of their rides around the property. Live oak trees grow slowly, and this particular root system wrapped itself around countless rocks over the decades. Digging it up was no easy task—cutting around those rocks with the sawmill was quite the challenge.

What I love most about this piece is the striking contrast between the polished sections, which support the thick oval glass top, and the untouched, weathered texture of the roots. The glass gives you a clear view of every rock and crevice the roots wrapped around over the years—showcasing the resilience and artistry of nature. This Root Coffee Table isn’t just a piece of furniture; it’s a piece of Texas, straight from the dirt.

A BAR LIKE NO OTHER: POUR, SERVE, IMPRESS

Looking for a show-stopping way to share your love of bourbon? As a huge bourbon fan, I couldn’t resist creating this piece. It’s neat, functional, and just plain cool! The travel bar neatly organizes your favorite bottles, glasses, and bar accessories while adding a hidden surprise: a built-in humidor for stashing a few cigars. The front panel opens forward, creating a bar service area that’s perfect for entertaining.

When I first envisioned this piece, I imagined it at a ranch, with someone pouring a bourbon from this handcrafted bar, cigars resting in the humidor, as they swap stories with friends. It's one of those things you don’t necessarily need, but you'll definitely want. Whether you're hosting a crowd or enjoying a quiet evening, this Travel Bar is sure to spark conversation. Trust me, it’s a feature that’ll have your guests talking.

REFLECTING RESILIENCE:
A MIRROR WITH A PAST

Our Sycamor Mirror has a story as striking as its design. The sycamore log it came from endured a fire, which charred the edges but left the interior grain beautifully intact. While the larger slabs became tables, this smaller piece was destined to become a stunning mirror. The live edge, with its natural curves and charred details, adds a rugged charm that’s hard to ignore. It’s a piece that captures resilience and transformation, making it more than just décor. Hang it in your home, and let it reflect not only your space but a little bit of its extraordinary history too.
